Publication Wiki Loves Art
The project 'Reverse' is published in the book Wiki Loves Art:
"For this book Amie Dicke created a haunting reversal of the traditional process of photo-printing by downloading images from the WLA/NL database, printing them and soaking them in water so that the ink would flow and the picture disappears, leaving only a ghost-image behind."
The publication Wiki Loves Art deals with the following questions:
Why is it not allowed to take photographs in most museums? What happens when it is? Is a photograph of an artwork an arwork in itself? How does the digitized artwork relate to the original? Will museum websites become more interesting than museums themselves? What is the role of Wikipedia in the life of an artwork?
Concept and graphic design of the book: Hendrik Jan Grievink
This book is a publication by Creative Commons Netherlands and was published as a follow-up to and documentation of the Wiki Loves Art/NL photo contest that was held in 2009. The publication was realized with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Mondriaan Foundation.

Group Show Sinop
New work entitled: 'Protected Property" is on display at the Prison in Sinop, Turkey.
For this exhibition I was asked to work together with citizens of Sinop to present ideas for the future with an artistic production. We covered a run down (but still inhabited) house in Sinop with emergency blankets, providing protection and something to play with for the kids in the neighborhood.

Installation at Museum van Loon during SALON/2
In an attempt to catch the atmosphere and passing of time in the Drakensteyn room, I covered the interior with a thin layer of plastic, a material that is used to protect
furniture against paint stains or dust, during renovation. Six interconnected and
automatically controlled vans make the room 'breath' or dance in the wind, mirroring
the wind and waves on the wall paintings. These realistic images give the impression
of being outdoors indoors. At the same they let us drift away and travel into the
interior of our own consciousness. French philosopher Henri Bergson inspired me:
"There comes a moment when the recollection thus brought down is capable of
blending so well with the present perception that we cannot say where perception
ends or where memory begins.”

Installation at Arnhem Mode Biennale
One hundred liters of foundation (make-up) is sprayed automatically by spray-guns that hang above an interior I have set up in the middle of the industrial environment of the former AkzoNobel factory. This room mirrors my private memories. Most of the objects which I have (re-)used would normally be thrown away, but some stuff just tends to stay, because you keep carrying them with you either mentally or physically.
In a way they have become physical reminders of our inability to let go of life. The many layers of foundation will slowly cover up the original colours or patterns of the objects and eventually the whole room will be in one tone, concealed under a thick layer of foundation, like a strange make-up. The interior will be changed into a skin coloured 'flesh', like a radical makeover that will turn the dead objects into a self-portrait.
