2008: Passive Drifter

Stretching unusual art materials including red wine, sugar cubes, wax candles and stockings to their limits, Amie Dicke presented this solo show at Peres Projects in Berlin, having moved to the city for a few months in 2008.
The title refers to the behaviour of jellyfish at the moment its prey comes close. It can also be understood as a comment on the process of making art – being a parasite on a shared visual history – and also viewing it.
